FIRST EVER IDO EUROPEAN PERFORMING ARTS IMPROVISATION!- Press Release 79/2022
The International Dance Organization’s Performing Arts Improvisation Cup took place in Zakopane, Poland.
This Performing Arts Improvisation idea was a proposal from IDO Germany and IDO Poland earlier this year. IDO is delighted to confirm that this new discipline was celebrated with much success, in its premier at Zakopane.
Improvisation is a successful discipline in many countries with the dancers allowed to perform to the Performing Arts Department choice of music, with no fixed choreography. The latter, the dancers are not aware of the music until, they need to perform it on the stage, which allows for pure and spontaneous dancing for 1 minute.
The medal table for this competition confirms that Slovenia, Ukraine and Slovak Republic won a gold medal each respectively. Congratulations to all the winners and all the dancers who took part.
It is clearly a new division that will grow from strength to strength and we encourage all members to take part in this competition in the future!
