AN IDO YEAR IN REVIEW! Part 3

- Press Release 181/2021

The International Dance Organization’s year in 2021 summer season saw a quieter of months. Here are some highlights of IDO’s 2021 between July and September 2021:

IDO embarked on its Ruby Anniversary on the 18th September. Celebrating 40 years will be throughout the next twelve months with activities, memorabilia, and events as it is a very special year and milestone. As part of the occasion, the IDO 40 history brochure was launched. As IDO President (Ag) Professor Dr Velibor Srdic rightly said:

‘The IDO is a prolific World Organization, that has through dance excelled both culturally and in the world of sports, since 1981. We have all grown to love IDO, a World Organization that now has an invaluable cultural heritage value. We will continue to work to ensure that IDO continues to flourish in artistic journey, education, experience and excellence in dance.’

This quarter saw the completion of the IDO Continent versus Continent online competition, with the finalists in all departments qualifying for the 1st round for the IDO Gala World event for 2021. It also saw a face-to-face competition, the IDO European Hip Hop, Break dance and Electric Boogie Championships in Brezeg Dolny, Poland. Over 1,300 dancers from 33 countries took part.

The IDO became a member of the International Health and Fitness Association (IHFA). The IHFA is a leading academic Organization that provides quality education and training programmes on health and fitness sciences.

During this quarter, IDO participated in the Sports International Forum in Russia, conducted various meetings online, produced a face-to-face licensed event in Katrineholm, celebrated World Peace Day, supported World Fair Play Day and formed part of TAFISA’s Walking Day.

We look forward tomorrow to Part 4 of our IDO Year in Review!
