COMMITTEE MEETINGS – BALLET AND SHOW DANCE- PRESS RELEASE 85/2021
IDO Committee Meetings have continued throughout the past month and the IDO Communications Department will keep you updated on all of these. Here are small reports on the two meetings:
Ballet Committee Meeting – held on the 30th April 2021
The meeting was conducted by Chairperson Tina D’Artnall from South Africa. 19 delegates took part from 14 countries and 3 continents.
The Chairperson commenced the meeting on an incredibly positive outlook on how many more ballet competitors are seen at IDO events. Discussions included the minutes of the previous meeting and various proposals pertaining to the rules of this dance genre. The next meeting is scheduled for December in Ossa covid permitting, or alternatively online.
Show Dance Committee Meeting – held on the 19th May 2021
The meeting was conducted by Chairperson Ralf Josat from Germany with 24 delegates taking part from 15 countries and 3 continents. As part of his report, Ralf briefed everyone on the 2020 scenario, confirmed the cancelled Show Dance events and looked forward to new dates and venues for 2021 and into 2022.
Rules pertaining to this division as well as Show dance versus jazz formed part of the agenda and discussions. The next meeting is proposed for November 2021 at the World Show Dance Championships in Riesa, Germany.
