It was a real pleasure to interview her, she is a river full and above all a sunny person, who loves her job very much, an outstanding role conquered with her great professionalism.

She was born in Ljubljana in Slovenia, to a South African mother and she herself is a mother of two girls aged 11 and 14, Katjuša and Chiara.

‘Fiona, I ask you a question that I ask everyone, for what reason did you approach dance? The exuberant girl has turned into a great professional, with dance beginnings at an important Slovenian choreographer Mojca Horvat. A springboard that took her to dance in major TV shows, dance and theatre projects all the way to the Ljubljana Ballet Conservatorium, from show dance to tap dance to jazz dance and after trying every kind of dance.

She later started to dance in a dance company, the Slovenian dance project created by one of the most important specialists at European level of Horton technique (a technique formed by dynamic and dramatic movements and develops both strength and flexibility of the dancer), the French Fred Lasserre.

Since 2003 she started working as a choreographer and organized many continental and international IDO events. For 8 years she was president of IDO Slovenia, one of the dance federations recognized by the National Olympic Committee.

From July 2022, besides being Senior Vice President of IDO, she has been elected to the Board of Directors of Tafisa, a European federation that brings together 40 sports and traditional games from around twenty countries.

Fiona knows 5 languages, loves to travel to get to know the cultures and traditions of all countries and claims that for her "dance is like the air"!
