VUOKATTI DANCE FESTIVAL – AN INTERNATIONAL DANCE EVENT FOR ADULTS OVER 30

RULES

ALL STYLES DANCING COMPETITION
The competition is open to ALL dance styles and combinations of those. In the competition there are three (3) categories:

• Adults 2 “All disciplines” Small Groups - 3-7 dancers/group,
• Adults 2 “All disciplines” Formations - 8-24 dancers/group
• Adults 2 Production - at least 25 dancers/production

A single dancer can take part in different categories, but only in one group in a category.

The competitors need to be 30 years of age (30th birthday during 2012). However, in formations and production, 15 % at the most (of the dancers) can be younger, as long as they are 18 years of age on the day of the competition.

The groups bring their own chosen music. This should be brought to the organizers in the form of a CD upon registration. The organizers do not limit the style of the music in any way, as long as the content is not offensive.

Start fee: 25 euro / person. Start fee includes the right to participate in all three competition categories. The registration time expires in 30.6.2012.

Performance duration:

Small Groups 2.30-3.00 minutes
Formations 2.30-4.00 minutes
Production 4.00-8.00 minutes

The VDF Competition is sanctioned by IDO (International Dance Organization) as “IDO approved Event”. IDO will send Mr. Nils Hakan Carlzon as Supervisor,
In the Competition there are 5 judges. In judging, IDO 3D-system is employed in the semi finals, and skating in the finals.

Props and decorations are allowed, as long as they do not tarnish the floor or endanger the performance of other groups. All groups need to bring and take away the props and decorations by themselves.

Small groups and formations are allowed 1 minute for this. Production is allowed 5 minutes, both at the start and end of their production.
